How ElevenEdge actually works
Most sites tell you they're “adaptive.” Here you can watch it happen. Answer a few real 11+ maths questions below and see the difficulty and the Elo rating respond to you — the exact engine your child practises on. Nothing is saved and you don't need an account.

What an Elo score actually means
Elo is the same idea used to rate chess players and online gamers: a single number for how strong you are, that goes up when you do better than expected and down when you do worse. Every child starts at 1,000 — the average — and it moves with every answer.

- check_circleIt's relative — it compares your child to the questions and to other students, not to an arbitrary pass mark.
- check_circleGetting a hard question right earns more than an easy one; getting an easy one wrong costs more. That's what makes it fair.
- check_circleOne bad answer won't tank it — the score reflects a pattern, not a single slip.
How the adaptive engine picks each question
It targets ~75% success
Questions are pitched so your child gets about three in four right — hard enough to stretch, easy enough to stay motivated. Too easy is boring; too hard is demoralising.
It leans into weak topics
Every one of the 15 topics has its own hidden rating. The engine serves more questions from the topics your child finds hardest, so practice time goes where it counts.
It brings back mistakes
A question answered wrong comes back later — after a few minutes, then days, then weeks (spaced repetition) — until it's genuinely learned, not just guessed once.
It ramps with ability
As the rating climbs, so does the difficulty. As it dips, questions ease off. Your child is always working right at the edge of what they can do.
